After unveiling plans to produce two electric motorcycles in the Can-Am Pulse and Origin, Bombardier Recreational Products announced that both Ski-Doo and Lynx's 2024 lineups will feature fully electric snowmobiles.

Unveiled during the presentations for their 2024 lineups, the Ski-Doo Grand Touring Electric and Lynx Adventure Electric will be BRP's first fully electric snowmobiles. Each with 50km (31 mile) ranges, BRP claims the machines are "perfect for guided rides."

According to snowgoer.com, the machines will be strictly commercial vehicles during their first year. BRP has not released any engine schematics for either model, only announcing range. That said, the company states that both the Grand Touring Electric and Adventure Electric provide "an inviting experience for new riders."

Ski-Doo and Lynx have teamed up with Uncharted Society, a BRP certified global network, to deliver "electric snowmobile experiences."

"The 2024 Ski-Doo Grand Touring Electric and Lynx Adventure Electric will allow you to be the first to experience winter's magic in a new, quite and sustainable way," Uncharted Society says.

While it feels like a new EV is announced daily in the automotive world, powersports growth in the electric space has not been as quick.

In 2010, Polaris released the Ranger EV. With a top speed of 25mph and a 35-45 mile range, the flagship model generated 30 horsepowers.

Honda has also contributed to the space with its CRF-E2. A small, clutch-less dirt bike designed for young riders, the 2022 model topped out at 20mph in the stage 2 power mode.

Both the Grand Touring Electric and Adventure Electric are scheduled for release in fall 2023. Tours by Uncharted Society will start then as well.
